One night I was watching wedding videos and crusin' youtube for ideas and inspiration and happened to see the video for LMFAO's song Party Rock Anthem. It seemed to have all the elements for a great wedding video and certainly matched the attitude of some of my brides. One in particular was Carolyn Rivers. She wanted a day to remember that was both fun and unique. To do that we needed different ideas.
Marshall McLuhen once said "the medium is the message". It's not in the sense that that a light bulb has a message but it describes a space in which a message can be formed. Within that space a purpose is described an enabled.
The wedding video we shot that day for Carolyn and Scott was the medium and the message was the celebration it enabled. The filming of the video became a thread we used all night long to let the celebration happen. It never got in the way or became the focal point of the moment but it gave everyone permission to take the events of the night to a whole new level.
A special thanks to my friend Chris Elzinga, his assistant Wim Does, Bryston's On the Park, Holiday Inn Sudbury and Mr. Rite Limosine. And a special thanks again to Chris Elzinga who did an amazing job, did great camera work and put in some long hours editing. Chris made a Bride's dream come true and a day she will never forget.
